Wastin' away again in Margaritaville, Nassau

Posted by Emma Moriarty on Jun 21st 2023

Ahoy fellow cruisers! I have a lot to report from my most recent adventure at the Margaritaville Beach Resort & Waterpark in Nassau, Bahamas. As a first time cruiser, I did plenty of research to make sure I got the most out of my experience. That is how I stumbled upon Resort for a Day pass and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It was the perfect choice for my day excursion and I am going to walk you through every part of my day.

The Margaritaville Beach Resort & Waterpark is nestled on the exquisite Cable Beach, offering an idyllic setting for guests of all ages. My group and I walked from the cruise port to the resort which took about 15 mins.

Pro Tip: Download the Google Maps phone app and start the directions while you are still on the cruise's WIFI. That way when you start walking outside of the WIFI's reach your directions will continue on!

The walk was incredibly easy, with flat terrain, and brought you right through a very busy tourist area with plenty of people and local authorities around which made us feel very safe. The Resort for a Day pass check in station located on the closest side to the building when you approach, which made it very easy to find.

Pro Tip: if you are looking to get a locker on the property you can get set up with that when you check in as well. The towels are also located by the entrance at a cabana right past the gate, these are free of charge!

The moment I stepped foot on the resort, I was captivated by its beauty. The expansive outdoor pool, complete with a lazy river, immediately beckoned me to take a refreshing dip. And just beyond the pool, a private beach awaited, with its crystal-clear waters inviting me to unwind and soak up the sun's rays. But that's not all - the resort's waterpark promised endless thrills with its exhilarating water slides, and a splash pad that would undoubtedly delight the young ones in your group.

Now, let's talk about the food that awaited me at Margaritaville Beach Resort & Waterpark. We arrived just around lunch time so we were hungry and ready to eat! With several restaurants and bars to choose from, the choice was hard! The signature Margaritaville restaurant stood out, serving mouthwatering burgers, delectable seafood, and tantalizing cocktails. But we wanted to get to the activities as soon as possible so we chose the laid-back dining experience, the 5 o'clock Somewhere Bar & Grill where we got delicious steak tacos, a refreshing turkey avocado wrap, and a side of the best cheese fries I have had in a while!

We all know the rules, you have to wait 30 mins after you eat before you go swimming ;) which was the perfect amount of time to go check out the License to Chill Bar which provided excellent options from top shelf liquor to wine, and of course their famous Margaritas! Our choice was simple, we had to go with the Margarita and it was fantastic! The bar attendants were funny, friendly, and attentive which made the experience even better.

Pro Tip: Get the margarita!

We took our drinks down to the beautiful Cable Beach, which Margaritaville has a private section of. The crystal blue water was calling my name so I decided to take a dip. We placed our things on one of the many open beach loungers in the white sand and jumped in. The water was incredibly warm, clean, and was not very crowded which made for the best swimming experience. We hung out on the beach for a little while enjoying its beauty before we decided to check out the rest of what the resort had to offer.

Pro Tip: If you get a seat in the first row of loungers closest to the water, make sure to leave all your items on top of the chair, not in the sand next to it. The waves do come up under the chair every once in a while and our shoes almost got swept away to ocean!

As someone who craves entertainment and activities, this resort truly hit the mark. In addition to the waterpark and beach activities, the resort offered a diverse range of options to keep guests engaged. Our group took a pedal boat out for a spin, I tested my balancing skills on the SurfStream®, enjoyed all of the waterslides, and we even jumped off the 10-12 foot cliff diving platform into the plunge pool! For families, the kids' club provided supervised activities and games to ensure their little ones were thoroughly entertained.

As the sun started to make its descent, we took a few more laps around the lazy river and headed to the hidden hot tubs to end our day with a little relaxation. The view of the resort from the hot tub is fantastic and it was a great way to reflect on the incredible day we had before we returned to the ship.

Pro Tip: The hot tubs are located in the middle of the waterpark, up the stairs by the mouth of the water slides. They were a little hard to find but that makes them all the more secluded and relaxing.

Resort for a Day, the provider of exclusive day passes, had several options to suit different preferences. I opted for the pass that offered access to the waterpark, beach, pool, and non-motorized water sports. There was another option which included the spa, but since we had one on board our ship we decided to spend our day outside.

I must also mention the resounding customer satisfaction that pervaded the atmosphere. With over 100 positive reviews on Resorts for a Day, it was clear that I was not alone in my admiration for the Margaritaville Beach Resort & Waterpark. The friendly and attentive staff, impeccably clean facilities, and delectable food and drinks were among the highlights mentioned by other guests. The waterpark and beach activities garnered particular praise, making this a haven for families and groups of friends.

Pro Tip: Book with Resort for a Day!

In conclusion, the Margaritaville Beach Resort & Waterpark in Nassau, Bahamas, was an absolute gem for my day excursion and I highly recommend anyone who is spending the day in Nassau to book with Resort for a Day!
