Ahoy, fellow travelers! Today, I'm excited to share the incredible experience I had during my day in port at Iberostar Rose Hall in Falmouth, Jamaica. I got my day pass through Resort for a Day, and I was very excited to spend the day in port relaxing by the pool and beach and taking in the Jamaican charm. Join me as I take you through my entire day in port and tell you what you need to know if you are planning on using Resort for a Day for any of your future cruises!

Let’s jump right in!

Getting There:

When booking with Resort for a Day in Jamaica, transportation is included to and from the cruise port. All the information needed to find the pick-up spot is located on your day pass! We docked at around 7 am, and the bus was going to pick us up at 8:30 am. We enjoyed some coffee on the ship and took in the views of Jamaica before heading out.

Hopping off the ship, we followed the directions printed on the day pass, and they were very accurate step by step. All you have to do is walk through the cruise port and follow the signs for independent internet bookings.

This will lead you to a white tent in the parking lot of the port. There, you have to check in with the Resort for a Day representative. Many friendly people working at the port asked us what we were looking for and pointed us in the right direction. Once we checked in with the Resort for a Day representative, we waited for the rest of the day pass guests to arrive, and once they did, we were on our way.

The bus driver rounded up our group, and we headed to the deluxe motor coach transportation, included in the day pass. This bus was spacious, comfy, and best of all, air-conditioned! They made sure we weren't leaving anyone behind by taking attendance multiple times.

The 20-minute drive went by quickly because our bus driver immediately started to entertain us by pointing out historical buildings, famous markets, and even the high school of Usain Bolt, the eight-time Olympic gold medallist! I have done Resort for a Day many times, but this was my first experience with transportation included, and I could not be happier with this experience!

Checking in:

The bus pulled up at the Iberostar Rose Hall, and we were directed to the front desk for check-in. The moment I set foot inside, the beauty of this resort wowed me. It was so big and grand it took my breath away! I couldn't wait to get checked in so I could start enjoying everything this resort had to offer. Check-in was a remarkably fast process facilitated in part by Resort for a Day because they explained before I ever stepped foot on the cruise ship what I would need to bring with me to the resort. The staff was incredibly nice, and I was checked in within moments. They placed a day pass bracelet on my wrist, and I was ready to go and explore the resort grounds.

First Stop - The Buffet:

Because we arrived early in the morning, we headed right to the resort buffet. We were seated immediately and got to enjoy all of the delicious foods! Having this included in the day pass price as well really makes the price worth it!

Next Stop - the Pool:

With full bellies, we headed to the pool to grab a lounge chair, where we would be relaxing all day, and headed to the sprawling pool! With multiple infinity pools, a swim-up bar, lazy river, and more, there was so much to explore here! There were many lounges to pick from, with the choice of the activities pool, the quiet pool, or even a lounge on the beach, we had our choice of where we wanted to spend our day. We chose a lounge by the activities pool, where the swim-up bar was, so that we could be in all the action and enjoy the views of the beach. When booking my Resort for a Day pass, this view is what made my choice easy!

Enjoying our Day:

After soaking up some sun on our lounger, we decided to venture into the water, the allure of the swim-up bar beckoning us. It was time for a drink! There was a plethora of tropical delights to choose from, and we had to try a few of the bartender's favorites. With this day pass being all-inclusive for food AND drink, we could try as many of the delicious cocktails as we wanted! And we did! I have to say my favorite one was the classic Piña Colada; nothing is a better match than a swim-up bar, some sun, and a cool Piña Colada.

Don’t Miss:

When you purchase a day pass with Resort for a Day to the Iberostar, you get access to two properties: the Iberostar Suites, which is normally where the bus will drop you off and you'll check in, and to the right is the Iberostar Beach property, you'll have access to that resort too. It is right next door and within walking distance along a beach boardwalk, and trust me, you'll want to explore this one as well! When only in Jamaica for the day, we wanted to explore everything there, and with Resort for a Day, we got, what felt like, a 2-for-1 deal!

Lunch:

After exploring this second resort and all the wonderful pool and lounge areas they had to offer, our stomachs were rumbling, so we decided to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat delight yet again that awaited us at the restaurant. They had transitioned over to lunch at this point, so the buffet was new and exciting with plenty of different dishes to try.

The Beach:

With full bellies yet again, we decided to check out the beach, which was a sanctuary, a breathtaking masterpiece. The white sand, the crystal blue waters, it was everything we were looking for. That’s one thing you miss when you are on a cruise, dipping your toes in the sand and the ocean. That is my number one reason for doing Resort for a Day! It gives you the opportunity to do the best of both worlds.

Getting back to the Ship:

When our bus driver dropped us off that morning, he made sure each person knew what time he would be back to pick us up. So around that time, we packed up our stuff and headed back to the lobby to await his arrival. To my pleasure, he was right on time, almost down to the second! Stepping onto the air-conditioned motor coach at the end of this glorious day in port, I was filled with satisfaction of a day well spent. We were dropped off right inside of the port entrance with plenty of time to get back to the ship, so much time we even stopped at a few of the shops to pick up some souvenirs!

In conclusion, my day at Iberostar Rose Hall was a magical escape into Jamaican paradise. From the seamless check-in process to the array of activities, the reliable and safe transportation, and the genuine hospitality, every element combined to create an unforgettable experience. If your next cruise makes a stop in Jamaica, don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Iberostar Rose Hall with a Resort for a Day pass – it's a journey into Jamaican bliss that you won't want to miss!
