"A day pass at Fortuna Beach is perfect choice tp enjoy Freeport. We got to kayak, lay on the beach, swim in the ocean, snorkel, swim in the pool, do resort activities and eat at the buffet. Great bar with snacks on the beach. Was one of our favorite parts of the cruise. Not a lot to see snorkeling but I did not go too far out. Did see some pretty fish in shallow water hanging out around the rocks, they mostly were not very big. But it was enough that I was glad I brought my equipment. Taxi from the port was $38 each way for four people. No trouble getting taxi back. They are lined up when it is time to go back to the ship. Check in was easy because we got there before a crowd from another ship. All you need is the printed voucher and they will give you wrist bands." - Laura
"We had a great experience at the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach. The resort was only about 20 minutes away from the cruise port, and the beach was beautiful. The food was very good -- make sure to check out the smaller buffet at the beachside bar for more kid-friendly eats. There were a few people walking the beach trying to sell shells or braid hair, but they were friendly, not pushy and generally left you alone after being told no thank you. Snorkeling wasn't very interesting here, but still fun to try. Overall a great value and we would definitely consider it again!" - Unknown
"This was a great way to spend the day from our Carnival cruise. We shared a taxi (van) with another family and the driver had us prepay him to pick us up at an appointed time. We paid $16 per person round trip. We have kids age 10 and 14 and we had plenty to do between the beach, snorkeling, wind surfing, playing volleyball, and hot tub. My kids did not want to do the trapeze but I thought it looked neat! The food was average, we ate from a breakfast buffet inside when we arrived and ate from a buffet at the bar. Food included hamburgers, nachos. The staff was very friendly, there was a security guard present on the beach, it was not crowded at all and we only were solicited by people selling on the beach when we first arrived. We enjoyed the open bar on the beach which had a good selection." - Tiffany
"We were 4 people on a 4 day cruise looking for something to do in Freeport. This was definitely worth doing. The food was very good, facilities were very clean and location was beautiful. We would do it again as we cruise together a couple of times a year." - Shelly
"Can't say enough good things about the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort. Everyone was very helpful and the drinks were excellent. Our bartender(Latina)was the best. If you go, ask her to make you her signature drink also called the Latina. :) However, be very careful, they go down very easy. |
